| Setting up Outlook Express for Macintosh |
Outlook Express is a popular POP email software from Microsoft which is available on both Windows and Macintosh platforms. This tutorial shows you how to configure Macintosh Outlook Express 6 to retrieve mail from your website email account.
* Please note, that some Internet Service Providers require that you use their outgoing servers to send email. You may want to check with them if you cannot send email from your Outlook account.

Start your Outlook Express 6 software. Click 'Tools' and select 'Accounts':. |

On the Accounts page, click 'New' to start the Account Setup Assistant: |

On the Your Name page, enter the email sender's name as the Display name and click the right arrow to continue: |

On the Internet E-mail Address page, select 'I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use.' and click the right arrow to continue: |

On the E-mail Server Names page, select POP as your incoming server type and enter the incoming and outgoing mail servers and then click the right arrow to continue: |

| My incoming mail server is a(n): |
POP3 server |
| Incoming mail server (POP3): |
pop.YourDomainName.com (or: .org, .net, - etc.) |
| Outgoing mail server (SMTP): |
smtp.YourDomainName.com (or: .org, .net, - etc.) | |

On the Internet Mail Logon page, enter userid%yourdomain.com as your Account ID and your email account password and then click the right arrow to continue: |

On the Congratulations page enter a name for this email account profile within Outlook Express and click 'Finish': |

Your Email Accounts window will now display the account that was just created: |

Next, select the account you just created. With the account name selected (highlighted as above), click on Edit. This will open the dialogue box shown below: |

On the bottom of the page, you will see "Click here for advanced sending options" (see image above) . Click on this link/button, and the additional dialog box Advance Sending Options will open. See below: |

Now, put a check mark in the box for SMTP server requires authentication. Then, put a check mark in the box for Log on using. See below: |

Now, insert for the Account ID the username at yourdomainname.com, but instead of using the @ character, use the & character. See below. |

Notice that I inserted, in the Advanced sending options box only, username&yourdomainname.com. For example, enter userid&yourdomainname.com, not userid@yourdomainname.com |

Click Ok to close all the boxes and then on the File menu, and choose Close: |

Click on "Send & Receive All." You should be prompted for your username and password. Enter them. You should then receive all your new email: |

Congratulations! You just set up your Mac Outlook Express account!. |
