5. Set the sensitivity, the lower the level, the more aggressive the filtration. A SpamSheild score of 0 will mark the majority of your mail as spam, while a score of 4.5, will catch only the most blatant spam. A good level is 2.5, but if you find that you are still receiving a high amount of spam, then lower the score:

6. You can have the spam get redirected to any folder you like, it is generally a good idea to have it go to your Spam folder, and check that folder in case some email that you want gets marked as spam. Also, over time your Spam folder will grow is size and will need to be cleared out.

You can also have the spam shield append a marking that lets you know its spam, so if you recieved a spam email with a subject of "The biggest property credit at THE lowest rate", the spam filter would pick up on it, and change the subject so that it read "The biggest property credit at THE lowest rate: SpamShieldScore 4.0". The spam filter can also hide the images from your spam emails, that are in your spam folder.

7. A "bounced" message, is a message that was sent to an invalid, or no longer existant email address, most mail servers respond to this by "bouncing" the message back, or sending it back to the sender, with a notification that the email wasn't delivered.

Some spammers use this to check to see if your email address exists by sending false "bounce" message to your email address. If the fake bounce they sent to you does not bounce back to them, then they know your email exists, and then they will start sending spam. By enabling this feature, when a spammer tries to send fake bounces, the mail server will automatically bounce that message back to them, making the spammer think your email doesn't exist:

8. Anyone one the Approved Senders list, all of their emails will automatically bypass the spam filter, and go right into your Inbox:images/7spamshield.jpg

9. Anyone listed on your Blocked Senders list will automatically be marked as spam. It is best to use this when spam email from a specific sender keeps getting past the Spam filter, and you don't want to decrease your filtration score. Also, it can be set up, so that you don't get email from anyone except the people who are listed on your Approved Senders list:
